Violist. Educator. Coach.
Performing, teaching, and coaching at the intersection of artistry and independent creative life.
Kim Foster has spent two decades building a life in music on her own terms — as a performer, an arts administrator, an educator, and a coach. Her work spans the concert stage, the teaching studio, and the coaching room, connected by a single conviction: that a meaningful creative life is something you design, not something that happens to you.
Performance
From solo recitals to chamber music at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, Kim brings a distinctive voice and deep interpretive commitment to everything she plays. She is currently developing her debut solo recording — works for viola by women composers.
Teaching
Kim runs a private viola studio for serious students of all levels, teaching online via Forte. The Viola Power Collective — her membership community for violists — extends the studio experience between lessons.
Coaching
Through the Compass Method, Kim works with high-achieving individuals navigating significant life and career transitions — helping them move forward with clarity, intention, and a stronger sense of what it means to flourish.
